A tree is more than
"a beautiful thing."

It is a symbol
of the beauty
of life reborn,
of the power
of nourishing earth,
from which we,
ourselves, have sprung.

It heralds the coming
of the seasons
in its separate forms.

'Tis no less beautiful
in Spring
or Autumn,
Winter or Fall.

Its beauty
cannot be seen
by the eye alone.

Who would destroy a tree
has no beauty
in his soul.
